Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 11-625 April 7, 2011 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 54 (SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ MEETINGS General Docket No. 89-363 The Region 54 (Southern Lake Michigan)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Beginning at 1:00 p.m., the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the Grundy County Administration Building, 1320 Union Street, Morris, Illinois. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: § Old business: Applications - Milwaukee, Wisconsin § New business: Applications - Northwest Central Dispatch, Illinois Immediately following the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting, the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the same location. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Old business: Applications - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Will County, Illinois § New Business: National Regional Planning Council Update Both Region 54 Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 54 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. 1 The Region 54 (Southern Lake Michigan) 700 MHz RPC encompasses counties in three states bordering Lake Michigan: Winnebago, McHenry, Cook, Kane, Kendall, Grundy, Boone, Lake, DuPage, DeKalb, Will, and Kankakee Counties, Illinois; Lake, LaPorte, Jasper, Starke, St. Joseph, Porter, Newton, Pulaski, Marshall, and Elkart Counties, Indiana; and Kenosha, Milwaukee, Washington, Dodge, Walworth, Jefferson, Racine, Rock, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha Counties, Wisconsin.
