REPLY COMMENT DATES FOR THE NOTICE OF INQUIRY IN THE NEXT GENERATION 
911 PROCEEDING

On December 21, 2010, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a Notice of Inquiry 
(NOI) to address how Next Generation 911 (NG911) can enable the public to obtain emergency 
assistance by means of advanced communications technologies beyond traditional voice-centric devices.1  
The NG911 NOI sets deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 45 and 60 days after 
publication in the Federal Register.  
On January 13, 2011, a summary of the NG911 NOI was published in the Federal Register.2  
Accordingly, comments must be filed on or before February 28, 2011; and reply comments must be filed 
on or before March 14, 2011.  Comment filing instructions are set forth in the NG911 NOI.
