(CenturyLink) filed a petition1 seeking a limited waiver of the Commission’s call signaling rules2 adopted in the USF/ICC Transformation Order.3 In its petition, CenturyLink makes the following specific requests: (1) “a limited waiver of the requirement to pass CN [the Signaling System 7 (SS7) Charge Number] unaltered where it is different than the CPN [Calling Party Number] in limited circumstances involving SS7 signaling where CenturyLink acts as an interexchange carrier;”4 (2) “a limited waiver of the new rules for originating service providers that use SS7 or MF [Multi-Frequency] signaling” to pass the number of the calling party (or CN, if different) in the MF Automatic Number Identification (ANI) field,5 and (3) a limited waiver of the new rules for originating service providers that use SS7 or MF signaling “where CenturyLink acts as an IXC for certain traffic originated over dedicated access facilities.”6 Interested parties may file comments on or before February 29, 2012, and reply comments on or before March 15, 2012.
