On April 25, 2012, in conjunction with the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, we waived, on our own motion, the January 1, 2013 deadline for private land mobile radio (PLMR) licensees in the 470-512 MHz band to migrate to narrowband (12.5 kHz or narrower) technology.1 This action renders moot certain previously filed requests for waiver. 2. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED pursuant to Sections 4(i) and 303(r) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 154(i) and 303(r), and Section 1.925 of the Commission’s Rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.925, that the Requests for Waiver of Sections 90.203(j)(10) and 90.209(b)(5) of the Commission’s Rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 90.203(j)(10), 90.209(b)(5), filed by the Maryland Department of Transportation on March 8, 2012 and Ocean County, New Jersey on December 22, 2011 ARE DISMISSED AS MOOT. 3.
