Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 12-1635 October 12, 2012 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 37 (SOUTH CAROLINA) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC MEETINGS PR Docket No. 93-78 The Region 37 (South Carolina)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the 800 MHz NPSPAC Public Safety RPC will convene at the APCO/NENA Conference at the Hilton Hotel, 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: · Election of Region Chairperson · Rebanding status · Palmetto 800 additional sites · Interoperability – discussion and clarification on required channels to be installed in all radios · Discuss back-to-back repeater dismantling after rebanding Immediately following the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting, the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the same location. The agenda for the 700 MHz includes: · Interoperability – discuss required channels to be installed in radios · 4.9 GHz band – comments and discussion on possible FCC actions · DVRS update on allowed frequencies and how they are to be used per the Region 37 Plan Both Region 37 Public Safety RPCs’ meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 37 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process.
