In this Order, the Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) extends the current temporary assignment of three toll free numbers to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) until April 16, 2012, to allow the Commission to review a joint petition filed by SAMHSA and the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC), the parties in this proceeding.1 2. The Commission’s Order assigning these three toll free numbers from KBHC to SAMHSA2 was remanded to the Commission on December 3, 2010 by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit.3 The Bureau sought comment on issues raised in the D.C. The most recent extension expires on February 28, 2012.5 On February 24, KBHC and SAMHSA filed a joint petition requesting that the Commission grant SAMHSA’s November 20, 2007 petition for permanent reassignment of the three suicide prevention hotline numbers to SAMHSA.6 In view of the parties’ joint petition, there is good cause to further extend the current assignment so the Commission can fully review this submission. 3. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to sections 1, 4(i) and 251(e) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 151, 154(i), and 251(e), sections 1.3 and 52.111 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 1.3 and 52.111, and pursuant to authority delegated under sections 0.91 and 0.291 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.91 and 0.291,7 the current assignment of toll free numbers 1-800-784-2433 (1-800-SUICIDE), 1-877-784-2432 (1-877-SUICIDA), and 1-888- 784-2433 (1-888-SUICIDE) to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration IS EXTENDED to April 16, 2012.
