Nature of Service: Earth Exploration Satellite Service On January 18, 2012, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, the application of DG Consents Sub Inc. to modify its authorization for its non-geostationary satellite orbit space station, QuickBird. Accordingly, DG Consents' authorization is modified to specify an increase in the peak orbital altitude of its QuickBird space station from 450 kilometers to 482 kilometers and to authorize radiofrequency operations in Earth Exploration Satellite Service in the 8025-8345 MHz frequency band (space-to-Earth) consistent with that modification and during decay of the satellite's orbit under natural forces. In addition, the QuickBird space station is authorized to continue transmissions in the 8025-8400 MHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band after it has completed its sensing mission, but before it completes post-mission disposal through re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. The Satellite Division also granted DIRECTV authority to conduct telemetry, tracking, and telecommand operations necessary to place the DIRECTV-4S space station into a disposal orbit at the end of its operational life. S2162SAT-STA-20111220-00244 E Effective Date: 01/13/2012Grant of Authority Special Temporary Authority SES Americom, Inc. On January 13, 2012, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, special temporary authority to SES Americom, Inc., for a period of 60 days, to perform telemetry, tracking and telecommand operations necessary to drift AMC-3 from its assigned location at 86.9º W.L. to 67° W.L., and to maintain AMC-3 at the 67° W.L. orbital location using the following C- and Ku-band frequencies: 6423.5 MHz (vertical polarization; Earth-to-space), 3700.5 MHz (vertical polarization; space-to-Earth), 4199.5 MHz (horizontal polarization; space-to-Earth), and 12198.0 MHz (horizontal polarization; space-to-Earth). Additionally, SES Americom is authorized to operate the AMC-3 space station in the conventional Ku-band frequencies of 11.7-12.2 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-to-space) to provide fixed-satellite service, including direct-to-home service, temporarily from the 67º W.L. orbital location. S2422SAT-STA-20111227-00252 E Effective Date: 01/19/2012Grant of Authority Special Temporary Authority Intelsat License LLC On January 19, 2011, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, special temporary authority to Intelsat License LLC, for a period of 30 days, to continue to operate telemetry, tracking, and telecommand operations with the Galaxy 12 space station necessary to maintain Galaxy 12 at 129.0º W.L., using the following center frequencies: 4198 MHz and 4199.875 MHz (left-hand circular or vertical polarization/space-to-Earth); and 6424.5 MHz (right-hand circular or horizontal polarization/Earth-to-space). Additionally, Intelsat is granted authority to continue to provide fixed-satellite service while located at the 129.0º W.L. orbital location on a temporary basis using the 3700-4200 MHz (space-to-Earth) and 5925-6425 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands.
