Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 12-905 Release Date: June 7, 2012 WIRELINE COMPETITION BUREAU ANNOUNCES DEADLINES FOR COMMENTS ON UNIVERSAL SERVICE CONTRIBUTION METHODOLOGY FURTHER NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING WC Docket No. 06-122 GN Docket No. 09-51 Comment Date: July 9, 2012 Reply Comment Date: August 6, 2012 On April 30, 2012, the Commission released a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (Notice) seeking comment on proposals to reform and modernize how Universal Service Fund contributions are assessed and recovered.1 The Commission set the comment and reply comment deadline for the Contribution Methodology Reform and Modernization Further Notice as 30 and 60 days, respectively, after publication of a summary of the Notice in the Federal Register.2 On June 7, 2012, a summary of the Notice appeared in the Federal Register.3 Accordingly, interested parties may file comments on or before July 9, 2012, and reply comments on or before August 6, 2012. All pleadings are to reference WC Docket No. 06-122 and GN Docket 09-51. Comments may be filed using the Commission’s Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS) or by filing paper copies.4 § Electronic Filers: Comments may be filed electronically using the Internet by accessing the ECFS: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/ecfs2/. § Paper Filers: Parties who choose to file by paper must file an original and one copy of each filing.
