REPLY COMMENT DATES FOR FURTHER NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING ON 
TRAVELERS’ INFORMATION STATIONS

On July 23, 2013, the Federal Communications Commission issued a Further Notice of Proposed 
Rulemaking (FNPRM) addressing Travelers’ Information Stations (TIS).1 The Commission sought 
comment on removing the filtering provision of Section 90.242(b)(8) of the Commission’s rules,2 which 
requires TIS stations to filter audio frequencies above 3 kHz.  The FNPRM set deadlines for filing 
comments and reply comments at 30 and 45 days after publication in the Federal Register.3
On August 19, 2013, the Office of the Federal Register published a summary of the FNPRM and 
associated comment and reply comment dates.4 Accordingly, comments must be filed on or before 
September 18, 2013; and reply comments must be filed on or before October 3, 2013.5 The FNPRM sets 
forth the comment filing instructions.6
