Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0513 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 14-559 Released: April 25, 2014 WIRELINE COMPETITION BUREAU RELEASES RESULTS FOR ADOPTED CONNECT AMERICA COST MODEL WC Docket No. 10-90 On April 22, 2014, the Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) completed work on the Connect America Cost Model (CAM), by finalizing decisions regarding the engineering assumptions contained in the model and adopting inputs necessary for the model to calculate the cost of serving census blocks in price cap carrier areas.1 Today, the Bureau releases results for the adopted model (CAM v4.1.1), as well as a list of census blocks that would be eligible for the offer of model-based support, subject to the outcome of the Phase II challenge process. The Bureau notes that final figures may change, depending on the upcoming challenge process and any adjustments that may be made to the budget stemming from updated projections regarding Connect America Fund-Intercarrier Compensation support. The results for the adopted model are available at http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/connect-america-cost-model-illustrative- results. The CAM is available at http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/caf-phase-ii-models or https://cacm.usac.org/.
