Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 15-98 Released: January 23, 2015 FCC ANNOUNCES AGENDA AND LEADERSHIP FOR FIRST MEETING OF THE TASK FORCE ON OPTIMAL PSAP ARCHITECTURE By this Public Notice, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA),1 announces the agenda for the first meeting of the Task Force on Optimal PSAP Architecture (TFOPA), to be held on January 26, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room at FCC Headquarters, located at 445 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20554. Notice of this meeting was published in the Federal Register on January 7, 2015.2 The TFOPA is a federal advisory committee that will provide recommendations to the Commission regarding actions that Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) can take to optimize their security, operations, and funding as they migrate to Next Generation 911 (NG911).3 The Chair of the TFOPA will be Steve Souder, Director, Department of Public Safety Communications, Fairfax County, VA. In light of this, we are announcing that, pursuant to section 1.1200(a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.1200(a), presentations to the TFOPA, including its working groups, will be treated as exempt presentations for ex parte purposes. This treatment is appropriate since presentations to the TFOPA, like comments on a Notice of Inquiry, will not directly result in the promulgation of rules.5 4 See 5 U.S.C.
