On October 3, 2016, WDIO-TV, LLC (“WDIO”) and KQDS Acquisition Corp. (“KQDS”) filed a motion requesting a two-week extension, to and including Thursday, October 20, 2016, of the time within which to file an Opposition to the above-referenced market modification request.1 The parties assert that they, as licensees of network affiliates in the Duluth-Superior DMA to which the counties in question are assigned by Nielsen, “have significant interests in the resolution of this proceeding” and “due to the scope and depth of issues presented in the Petition,” need “a brief additional period to present a complete record to the Bureau.” 2 Petitioner Gray Television Licensee, LLC has consented to the requested extension. 3 2. The Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time,4 but the rights at issue in this proceeding are significant and important to a wide range of interested parties, and we seek to encourage robust participation in the proceeding. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to Section 4(i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 154(i), and Sections 0.51, 0.283, and 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.51, 0.283, and 1.46, that the motion for extension of time filed by WDIO and KQDS-TV is granted, and the deadline for submission of pleadings is accordingly extended to October 20, 2016.
