Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 16-727 Released: June 27, 2016 COMMENT AND REPLY DEADLINES SET FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION FILE NPRM MB Docket No. 16-161 FCC 16-62 NPRM Comment Date: July 22, 2016 NPRM Reply Comment Date: August 22, 2016 On May 25, 2016, the Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“NPRM”) proposing to eliminate two public inspection file requirements: (i) the requirement that commercial broadcast stations retain in their public inspection file copies of letters and emails from the public, and (ii) the requirement that cable operators maintain for public inspection the designation and location of the cable system’s principal headend.1 The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 60 days, respectively, after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register.2 The summary of the NPRM was published in the Federal Register on June 22, 2016.3 Accordingly, comments will be due on or before July 22, 2016, and reply comments on or before August 22, 2016.
