Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 17-240 Released: March 13, 2017 CHAIRMAN PAI ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW TRIBAL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Chairman Pai today announced the appointment of one Tribal representative to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Intergovernmental Advisory Committee (IAC) to bring the IAC to its full strength of 15 members. The new representative is Danae Wilson, Manager, Department of Technology Services for the Nez Perce Tribe. On September 29, 2016, the Commission announced the reauthorization of the IAC and sought nominations for membership.1 The term of the previous IAC expired on July 14, 2016. On December 29, 2016 the Commission issued a Public Notice announcing the names of the members of the reauthorized IAC and soliciting nominations for an open seat for an elected or appointed Tribal representative.2 Additionally, by this Public Notice we announce a change of date for the first meeting of the reauthorized Intergovernmental Advisory Committee from March 16-17, 2017 to March 24, 2017.3 The reauthorized IAC will operate for two years, with an option for the Commission to reauthorize it again at the end of the two-year period.4 The term will commence with the IAC’s first meeting to be at the Commission’s headquarters and will conclude on March 24, 2019.
