MEDIA BUREAU ANNOUNCES DIGITAL CABLE STANDARDS ORDER

On September 25, 2017, the Commission released the Digital Cable Standards Order.

  The Order 
updated the Commission’s signal leakage and signal quality rules that apply to cable operators to reflect 
the cable industry’s transition from analog to digital systems.  By this Public Notice, we announce that 
today the Federal Register published a summary of the Digital Cable Standards Order.

The rules adopted in the Digital Cable Standards Order will take effect on April 23, 2018, except 
for rule sections 76.105(b), 76.601(b)(1), 76.1610, and 76.1804, which contain new or modified 
information collection requirements that require approval by the Office of Management and Budget under 
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.  The Media Bureau will issue a Public Notice announcing when 
the rules that require approval from the Office of Management and Budget will take effect.
