PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES COMMENT AND 
REPLY COMMENT DATES FOR PARTIES TO REFRESH THE RECORD ON 
FACILITATING MULTIMEDIA IN WIRELESS EMERGENCY ALERTS

On March 28, 2018, the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau released a Public Notice in 
PS Docket Nos. 15-91 and 15-94 inviting commenters to update the record on the feasibility of including 
multimedia content in Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) messages.

  The Public Notice requested that 
interested parties address the technical feasibility for requiring multimedia content in WEA messages, 
including the current state of multimedia testing and standards development, as well as potential costs and 
benefits to public safety and Participating CMS Providers.  The Public Notice set deadlines for filing 
comments and reply comments at 30 and 45 days after publication in the Federal Register.

On April 28, 2018, the Office of the Federal Register published a summary of the Public Notice 
and associated comment and reply comment dates.

  Accordingly, comments must be filed on or before 
May 29, 2018; and reply comments must be filed on or before June 11, 2018.

forth the comment filing instructions.
