2 DA 18-625 June 15, 2018 COMMISSION OPENS DOCKET FOR PROPOSED TRANSFER OF CONTROL OF SPRINT CORPORATION TO T-MOBILE US, INC. WT Docket No. 18-197 On April 29, 2018, T-Mobile US, Inc. (T-Mobile), and Sprint Corporation (Sprint) announced an agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction. On June 14, 2018, T-Mobile and Sprint informed the Commission that on June 18, 2018, they plan on filing applications seeking Commission approval to transfer control to T-Mobile of the licenses and authorizations held by Sprint and its wholly-owned and controlled subsidiaries. The purpose of this public notice is to announce the opening of a docket, WT Docket No. 18-197, and articulate the ex parte status of discussions related to the proposed transaction. Pursuant to Section 1.1200(a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 CFR § 1.1200(a). the Commission may adopt modified or more stringent ex parte procedures in particular proceedings if the public interest so requires. We announce that as of the time the applications are filed, this proceeding will be governed by permit-but-disclose ex parte procedures that are applicable to non-restricted proceedings under Section 1.1206 of the Commission’s rules.
