DA 19-112 Released: February 22, 2019 FCC ANNOUNCES TECHNOLOGICAL ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING ON March 26, 2019 The FCC’s Technological Advisory Council, comprised of a diverse group of leading technology experts, provides technical expertise to the Commission to identify important areas of innovation and develop informed technology policies supporting the United States’ competitiveness in the global economy. The TAC is helping the Commission to continue the momentum spurred by the National Broadband Plan to maximize the use of broadband to advance national interests and create jobs. The planned meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 will discuss final recommendations for the 2018 TAC work program. This meeting was originally planned and publicly announced for December 5, 2018 but was cancelled and rescheduled to January 14, 2019 due to the closing of all executive departments and agencies of the federal government on December 5, 2018 under an executive order issued by President Trump to mourn the death of the 41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush. Due to a partial lapse in federal government funding, the rescheduled TAC meeting on January 15, 2019 was cancelled. The next meeting of the TAC will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. The public is invited to attend. Dennis Roberson, Vice Provost and Research Professor, Illinois Institute of Technology, serves as Chairman of the Council.
