(Pluto TV) requesting that the Media Bureau grant a waiver of the Commission’s rules requiring closed captioning of video programming delivered through Internet protocol (IP). The Public Notice established July 26, 2019 as the deadline for filing comments regarding the Petition, and August 9, 2019 as the deadline for filing reply comments. 2. On July 18, 2019, Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. (TDI), Association of Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA), Cerebral Palsy and Deaf Organization (CPADO), Deaf Seniors of America (DSA), National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technology for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Gallaudet University (DHH-RERC) (collectively, Requestors) filed a motion, Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time, MB Docket No. 11-154 (filed July 18, 2019) (Motion), https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/1071817549322/Consumer%20Groups%20Motion%20for%20Extension%20of%20Time%20-%20Pluto%20-%20FINAL.pdf. which is unopposed, Id. at 1, 3. According to Requestors, “[c]ounsel for Pluto has consulted with Pluto and Pluto consents to this motion.” Id. at 1. to extend the comment and reply comment deadlines by ninety (90) days each to October 24, 2019 and November 7, 2019, respectively. Requestors claim that the current timing of the comment and reply comment deadlines makes it difficult to gather the information necessary to prepare meaningful comments. Id. at 2. Among the reasons for the extension cited in the Motion, Requestors state that a number of them have plans to travel to or host conferences during the summer, Id. and that TDI’s pro bono counsel, the Communications & Technology Clinic of Georgetown Law’s Institute for Public Representation (the clinic), is generally inoperable during the summer months. Id. According to Requestors, an extension of time will enable the clinic to represent TDI with respect to the Petition and to file comments and reply comments on behalf of the Requestors. Id. Requestors also maintain that the Petition raises complex issues that will require relatively detailed technical analysis. Id. Finally, as noted above, Requestors state that Pluto TV does not oppose the requested extension. 3. As set forth in section 1.46 of the Commission’s rules, 47 CFR § 1.46. it is the policy of the Commission that extensions of time shall not be routinely granted. We find, however, that Requestors have shown good cause for the requested extension, and we believe that the public interest will be served by granting a 90-day extension of time to file comments and a 90-day extension of time to file reply comments. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, that the Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time filed by Requestors is GRANTED. 5. IT IS ALSO ORDERED that the date for filing comments on the Petition IS EXTENDED to October 24, 2019, and the date for filing reply comments IS EXTENDED to November 7, 2019. 6. This action is taken pursuant to authority found in sections 4(i) and 303(r) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 154(i), 303(r). and sections 0.204, 0.283 and 1.46 of the Commission's rules. 47 CFR. §§ 0.204, 0.283 and 1.46. 7.
