2 DA 19-762 August 9, 2019 FCC ANNOUNCES NEW MEMBER TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE By this Public Notice, the Federal Communications Commission (“Commission” or “FCC”) announces that Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey, Chair of the FCC’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee (IAC), has named Ben Blink, Policy Advisor, Transportation and Technology Innovation, as his new designee to the IAC, replacing Kirk Adams, prior designee. See Public Notice, FCC Announces First Meeting of its Newly Expanded Intergovernmental Advisory Committee, DA 18-913 (rel. Sep. 5, 2018). The IAC provides guidance, expertise, and recommendations to specific requests from the Commission on a range of issues affecting local, state, and Tribal governments that are within the jurisdiction of the Commission. The IAC, composed exclusively of state, local and Tribal officials (or their designated employees), is governed by the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act of 1995 (UMRA). See 2 U.S.C. § 1534 (b). Committees formed under UMRA are exempt from the Federal Advisory Committee Act and their meetings are not open to the public. Id.
