Launch and Operating Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 10/08/2020 Nature of Service: Earth Exploration Satellite Service, Other On October 8, 2020, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, the application of Loft Orbital Solutions, Inc., as amended, to construct, deploy, and operate a single non-geostationary orbit space station, to be known as YAM-2, operating at an altitude of 550 km. Loft was authorized to operate the YAM-2 space station for communications in the earth-exploration satellite service in the 8025-8400 (space-to-Earth) frequency band and in the standard frequency and time signal-satellite Service in the 400.075-400.125 MHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band. Loft was also authorized to operate the YAM-2 space station in the fixed-satellite and mobile-satellite services (Earth-to-space) for reception from U.S. earth stations in the 902-906 MHz frequency band and for reception from non-U.S. earth stations in the 865-866.4 MHz, 868-869.7 MHz, 902-905 MHz and 920-924 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. Loft was authorized to operate TT&C communications with the YAM-2 space station in the 2200-2290 MHz (space-to-Earth), 8025-8400 MHz (space-to-Earth), and 2025-2110 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. Additionally, the Division authorized Loft to conduct inter-satellite communications to transmit to the Globalstar satellite system in the 1613.8-1626.5 MHz (space-to-space) frequency band and receive in the 2483.5-2495 MHz frequency band (space-to-space), and to receive inter-satellite communications from Inmarsat satellites in the 1535-1559 MHz (space-to-space) frequency band. This application was granted under the streamlined small satellite procedures adopted by the Commission in FCC 19-81.
