PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES COMMENT AND REPLY COMMENT DATES IN CONNECTION WITH THE OPEN PROCEEDING ON SHARING COMMUNICATIONS OUTAGE INFORMATION WITH ELIGIBLE STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES

	On February 28, 2020, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing a framework for sharing detailed communications outage information with state and federal agencies to improve their situational awareness, enhance their ability to respond more quickly to outages affecting their communities, and help save lives, while also preserving the confidentiality of this data. Amendments to Part 4 of the Commission’s Rules Concerning Disruptions to Communications, PS Docket No. 15-80, Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, FCC 20-20 (2020), https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-20-20A1.pdf (Second FNPRM).  
  The Second FNPRM set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 60 days, respectively, after publication of a summary of the Second FNPRM in the Federal Register. Id. at para. 73.


	On March 31, 2020, the Office of the Federal Register published a summary of the Second FNPRM, including the associated comment and reply comment dates. See 85 Fed. Reg. 17818 (March 31, 2020). 
  Accordingly, comments must be filed on or before April 30, 2020, and reply comments must be filed on or before June 1, 2020. Id. at 17819.
