Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau Seeks to Refresh the Record on Truth-in-Billing Rules to Ensure Protections for All Consumers of Voice Services, CC Docket No. 98-170; WC Docket No. 04-36, Public Notice, DA 19-1271 (Dec. 13, 2019) (Truth-in-Billing Notice). Specifically, the Bureau sought additional comment on proposals to extend the truth-in-billing rules to providers of interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services and to require carriers to separate government-mandated charges from other charges on consumers’ telephone bills. Id. The Truth-in-Billing Notice sets deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 days and 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, respectively. Id.
