1. In this Order, we cancel a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture Fairfield Educational Radio Station., File No. 00001259259, Memorandum Opinion and Order and Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, DA 21-283 (MB Mar. 9, 2021) (NAL).
 issued to Fairfield Educational Radio Station (Licensee), licensee of Station KHOE(FM), Fairfield, Iowa (Station), for apparently willfully violating section 73.3539 of the Commission’s rules by failing to timely file a license renewal application for the Station.
2. The NAL correctly noted that the deadline for filing applications for renewal of radio stations licensed to communities in Iowa was October 1, 2020, the first day of the fourth full calendar month prior to the Station’s February 1, 2021, license expiration date. Id. at para. 2 (citing 47 CFR §§ 73.1020, 73.3539(a)). 
  The NAL further stated that the Licensee had not provided an explanation for its failure to timely file the Station’s license renewal application. Id. at para. 2.  Although a narrative was included with the application, it did not directly reference or explain the late filing of the application.
  However, the Media Bureau staff had previously informed the licensee that it could file an application by November 2, 2020, without adverse action taken. Email from Rolanda Faye Smith, Audio Division, FCC Media Bureau to Station KHOE (Oct. 27, 2020, 1:18 PM EDT).
  Licensee filed the application on November 2, 2020, the extended deadline set by the Media Bureau staff.
3. Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, pursuant to section 504(b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 504(b).
 and sections 0.61, 0.283, and 1.80(f)(4) of the Commission’s rules, 47 CFR §§ 0.61, 0.283, 1.80(f)(4).
 the Notice of Apparent Liability for a Forfeiture (NAL/Acct. No. MB-202141410022) issued to Fairfield Education Radio Station IS CANCELLED and the application for renewal of license filed by Fairfield Education Radio Station for Station KHOE(FM), Fairfield, Iowa (File No. 0000125259) IS GRANTED.
4. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that copies of this Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture shall be sent by First Class and Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested, to James Moore, 1000 N 4th Street, MR685, Maharishi International University, Fairfield, IA 52557, and to Bill Goldstein, 1000 N 4th Street, MR769, Maharishi International University, Fairfield, IA 52557.
