TO VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS INC. GN Docket No. 21-112 On September 30, 2020, Verizon Communications Inc. (Verizon) filed an application for consent to transfer control of TracFone Wireless, Inc. (TracFone), See File No. ITC-T/C-20200930-00173. which holds a single international section 214 authorization, File No. ITC-214-20030401-00162. from TracFone’s 100% indirect parent, América Móvil S.A.B. de C.V. to Verizon. Verizon filed the application as part of its acquisition of TracFone, a mobile virtual network operator that offers prepaid services aimed at value-conscious consumers, and serves almost 21 million customers, including 1.7 million Lifeline customers. The purpose of this public notice is to announce the opening of a docket, GN Docket No. 21-112, which is captioned “Proposed Transfer of Control of Tracfone Wireless, Inc. to Verizon Communications Inc.” and articulate the ex parte status of discussions related to the proposed transaction. Pursuant to Section 1.1200(a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 CFR § 1.1200(a). the Commission may adopt modified or more stringent ex parte procedures in particular proceedings if the public interest so requires. We announce that this proceeding will be governed by permit-but-disclose ex parte procedures that are applicable to non-restricted proceedings under Section 1.1206 of the Commission’s rules.
