Launch and Operating Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 05/24/2021 Nature of Service: Earth Exploration Satellite Service, Other On May 24, 2021, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, authority to Loft Orbital Solutions, Inc., to construct, deploy, and operate a single non-geostationary orbit space station, to be known as YAM-3, at an altitude of approximately 525 km. Loft was authorized to operate the YAM-3 space station in the earth-exploration satellite service in the 8025-8400 (space-to-Earth) frequency band and in the standard frequency and time signal-satellite service in the 400.075-400.125 MHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band. Loft was authorized to operate the YAM-3 space station in the fixed-satellite and mobile-satellite services (Earth-to-space) for reception from U.S. earth stations in the 902-906 MHz frequency band and for reception from non-U.S. earth stations in the 865-866.4 MHz, 868-869.7 MHz, 902-905 MHz and 920-924 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. Loft was also authorized to operate in the fixed-satellite service with a single U.S. earth station in the 2400-2483.5 MHz (space-to-Earth and Earth-to-space). Loft was authorized to operate TT&C communications with the YAM-3 space station in the 400.15-401 MHz (space-to-Earth), 401-402 MHz (space-to-Earth), 2200-2290 MHz (space-to-Earth), 8025-8400 MHz (space-to-Earth) (earth stations outside U.S. only), 2025-2110 MHz (Earth-to-space), and 449.75-450.25 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. Additionally, the Division authorized Loft to conduct inter-satellite communications to transmit to the Globalstar satellite system in the 1615.035-1617.495 MHz (space-to-space) frequency band and receive in the 2488.695-2491.155 MHz frequency band (space-to-space), and to receive inter-satellite communications from Inmarsat satellites in the 1535-1559 MHz (space-to-space) frequency band. This application was granted under the streamlined small satellite procedures adopted by the Commission in FCC 19-81. SAT-LOA-20200921-00112 E S3074 Silkwave Africa, LLC Launch and Operating Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 05/24/2021 Nature of Service: Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service On May 24, 2021, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, authority to Silkwave Africa LLC to conduct telemetry, tracking, and command operations necessary to drift the geostationary-orbit space station known as AsiaStar from the 105° E.L. orbital location to the 21.0º E.L. orbital location, and operate the AsiaStar space station at the 21.0º E.L. orbital location to provide broadcasting-satellite service. AsiaStar is authorized to operate using the 1452-1492 MHz (space-to-Earth) and 7025-7075 MHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands, and to conduct TT&C using the following center frequencies: 1452.5 MHz, 1491.5 MHz (space-to-Earth); and 7073.0 MHz, 7074.0 MHz (Earth-to-space).
