Federal Communications Commission "FCC/DA XX-XXX" DA 21-717 Released: June 17, 2021 EXTENSION OF FILING DEADLINES FALLING ON FEDERAL HOLIDAY OBSERVED JUNE 18, 2021 On June 17, 2021, the President signed legislation establishing Juneteenth National Independence Day as a federal holiday. Memorandum from Kathleen M. McGettigan, Acting Dir., U.S. Office of Personnel Management, to Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies (June 17, 2021). In 2021, that holiday will be observed on Friday, June 18. Section 1.4(j) of the Commission’s rules states that if a filing deadline falls on a holiday the document shall be filed on the next business day. 47 CFR § 1.4(j). Pursuant to Section 1.4(j), all filing deadlines that would have occurred on Friday, June 18, 2021, will instead occur on Monday, June 21, 2021. Additionally, June 18 will not count in computing filing periods of less than seven days under Section 1.4(g) of the Commission’s rules, as the Commission will observe this public holiday. 47 CFR § 1.4(g).
