Federal Communications Commission DA 21-857 DA 21-979 Released: August 10, 2021 FCC ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 MEETING OF DISABILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE By this Public Notice, consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act,1 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) announces the next meeting of the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC or Committee) to be held Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. The DAC meeting will be held remotely, with video and audio coverage at www.fcc.gov/live. At this meeting, DAC members are expected to discuss (i) a working group report and recommendation on communications access for individuals with disabilities during the pandemic; (ii) a working group report and recommendation on emerging accessible communications opportunities; and (iii) any other topics relevant to the DAC’s work. The meeting will be led by the DAC co-chairs: Brian Scarpelli, Senior Policy Counsel of ACT | The App Association, and Isidore Niyongabo, President and Director of Advocacy and Public Engagement of National Black Deaf Advocates.  The DAC may also receive briefings from Commission staff on issues of interest to the Committee and may discuss topics of interest to the Committee, including, but not limited to, matters concerning accessible communications, telecommunications relay services, emergency access, and video programming accessibility. This agenda may be modified at the discretion of the DAC co-chairs and Designated Federal Officer (DFO). The DAC meeting will be open to the public and will be held virtually. During the meeting, members of the public may submit questions and comments to the DAC via email: livequestions@fcc.gov. These comments or questions may be addressed during the public comment period.
