DA 22-298 Released: March 21, 2022 FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION LAUNCHES MAPPING TOOL FOR THE USE OF AUCTION 108 APPLICANTS AU Docket No. 20-429 In conjunction with the adoption of procedures for the auction of overlay licenses in the 2.5 GHz band (Auction 108), Auction of Flexible-Use Licenses in the 2.5 GHz Band for Next-Generation Wireless Services; Notice and Filing Requirements, Minimum Opening Bids, Upfront Payments, and Other Procedures for Auction 108; Bidding Scheduled to Begin July 29, 2022, AU Docket No. 20-429, Public Notice, FCC 22-24 (2022) (Auction 108 Procedures Public Notice). the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) and the Office of Economics and Analytics (OEA) announce the launch of a mapping tool that can be used to help assess whether and to what extent there is unassigned 2.5 GHz spectrum available in any U.S. county. The mapping tool, as well as instructions for its use, can be found under the Education tab on the Auction 108 website at www.fcc.gov/auction/108. Detailed information about participating in Auction 108 is available in the Auction 108 Procedures Public Notice. The mapping tool provides a high-level view of spectrum availability and allows users to link to the Universal Licensing System (ULS). Interested parties are reminded that the maps and data displayed in the tool are not an official representation of license or application status, and may be updated to reflect the disposition of pending applications from the Rural Tribal Priority Window. Users should consult ULS to confirm the status of any license or application. ULS also can be accessed directly at www.fcc.gov/uls.
