Federal Communications Commission DA 22-552 DA 22-552 Released: May 18, 2022 FCC ANNOUNCES AGENDA FOR 988 GEOLOCATION FORUM WC Docket No. 18-336 As previously announced, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will convene a forum on the challenges and opportunities related to geolocation for 988, the three-digit number designated for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. FCC Announces Forum on Geolocation for 988, Public Notice, DA 22-457 (WCB 2022). The National Suicide Hotline Designation Act of 2020 designated 988 as the universal telephone number within the United States for the purpose of the national suicide prevention and mental health crisis hotline system.
