Wireless Emergency Alerts; Amendments to Part 11 of the Commission’s Rules Regarding the Emergency Alert System, PS Docket Nos. 15-91 and 15-94, Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, FCC 22-31 (Apr. 21, 2022) (Further Notice). The Further Notice proposes that commercial mobile service providers that participate in WEA report on key metrics that will help stakeholders develop an understanding of WEA’s end-to-end performance, See Further Notice at 7-12, paras. 8-19. and seeks comment on ways to improve WEA’s consistency and the pace at which messages are received. See id. at 12-13, paras. 20-25. The Further Notice set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 60 days, respectively, after publication of a summary of the Notice in the Federal Register. See id. at 1. On May 20, 2022, the Office of the Federal Register published a summary of the Notice, including the associated comment and reply comment dates. Accordingly, comments must be filed on or before June 21, 2022, and reply comments must be filed on or before July 19, 2022. The Further Notice contains the comment filing instructions.
