Launch and Operating Authority Granted in Part/ Deferred in Part Effective Date: 04/21/2022 Nature of Service: Earth Exploration Satellite Service On August 4, 2022, the Satellite Division authorized ICEYE US, Inc. to construct, deploy, and operate one additional low-Earth orbit, non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites in the Earth Exploration Satellite Service (EESS), deployed to an altitude of approximately 550 km, to conduct Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging. ICEYE US is authorized to operate an EESS downlink with a center frequency of 8212.5 MHz and a bandwidth of 375 MHz and an EESS downlink with a center frequency of 8300 MHz and a bandwidth of 150 MHz, and to conduct SAR operations using a center frequency of 9600 MHz and a bandwidth of 600 MHz, and using a center frequency of 9650 MHz and bandwidths of 150 MHz, 200 MHz, and 300 MHz. Specifically, SpaceX is authorized to temporarily adjust the minimum elevation angle from 25 degrees to ten degrees at latitudes above 53 degrees for communications in the 10.7-12.7 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands.
