RULES FOR FULL POWER AND CLASS A TELEVISION STATIONS

On September 29, 2022, the Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) seeking comment in MB Docket No. 22-227 on proposals to update rules to comprehensively delete, update, or otherwise revise Commission rules for full power and Class A television stations that no longer have any practical effect given the transition from analog to digital-only operations and the completion of the post-incentive auction transition to a smaller television band with fewer channels. See Amendment of Part 73 of the Commission’s Rules to Update Television and Class A Television Broadcast Station Rules, and Rules Applicable to All Broadcast Stations, MB Docket No. 22-227, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, FCC 22-73 (rel. Sept. 29, 2022) (NPRM).
  The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 60 and 75 days, respectively, after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register. NPRM at 1.
   

The summary of the NPRM was published in the Federal Register on February 9, 2023. 88 FR 8636 (2/9/23).
  Accordingly, comments are due on or before April 10, 2023, and reply comments on or before April 25, 2023.  Commenters should follow the filing instructions provided in the NPRM. See NPRM at para. 59.
