Federal Communications Commission DA 26 -465 DA 26-465 Released: May 12, 2026 CONSUMER AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS BUREAU DISMISSES ELEVEN PETITIONS FOR RECONSIDERATION OR APPLICATIONS FOR REVIEW CG Docket Nos. 02-278, 25-307 To efficiently manage dockets, reduce backlog, and resolve dormant issues, the Commission announces through this Public Notice the dismissal of 11 petitions for reconsideration or applications for review. On October 29, 2025, the Commission released a Public Notice providing petitioners notice of, and an opportunity to object to, the Commission’s plan to dismiss with prejudice 13 pending petitions for reconsideration and applications for review. See Advanced Methods to Target and Eliminate Unlawful Robocalls, Call Authentication Trust Anchor, Rules and Regulations Implementing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, Dismissal of Outdated or Otherwise Moot Robocalls Petitions, Ninth Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in CG Docket No. 17-59, Seventh Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in WC Docket No. 17-97, Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in CG Docket No. 02-278, Public Notice in CG Docket No. 25-307, FCC 25-76, at paras. 108-10 (rel. Oct 29, 2025) (2025 Public Notice). Parties filed these petitions between 2012 and 2021, and they have gone without advocacy for several years. See id. at para. 108. Consistent with past practice, the Commission announced that it planned to dismiss these petitions with prejudice unless a petitioner or applicant filed a letter in the relevant docket or dockets specifying that it objects to the dismissal of its petition or application and the reasons for such objection. See id. at para. 109. The Commission received no such objections to the dismissal of the 11 petitions identified in the chart below. Although comments filed by Contact Center Compliance request that the Professional Association for Customer Engagement’s 2019 petition for reconsideration “receive further consideration,” this filing was not submitted by the petitioner and does not appear to address issues raised in the petition. See Comments of Contact Center Compliance CG Docket Nos. 17-59, 17-97, 02-278, 25-307, at 4 (filed Jan. 5, 2026). Accordingly, we believe that the relief sought in these petitions and applications is moot or outdated by advances in technology, changes in consumer preferences, or changes in regulations that have occurred since they were filed, See 2025 Public Notice at para. 108. and we therefore dismiss them with prejudice.
