(Boonville, Missouri) )
REPORT AND ORDER
(Proceeding Terminated)
Adopted: January 31, 1997 Released: February 7, 1997
By the Chief, Allocations Branch:
1. The Commission has before if for consideration the Notice of Proposed Rule Making.
11 FCC Red 14556 (1996), proposing the allotment of Channel 226A to Boonville, Missouri,
as that community's second FM broadcast service. 1 The Notice was issued in response to a
petition filed by Big Country of Missouri ("Big Country"). Big Country filed comments
reiterating its intention to apply for Channel 226A at Boonville. No other comments were
received at the Commission.
2. We believe the public interest would be served by allotting Channel 226A to Boonville,
Missouri, since it will provide the community with additional broadcast service. As indicated
in the Notice. Channel 226A can be allotted to Boonville in compliance with the minimum
distance separation requirements of the Commission's Rules provided there is site restriction
11.9 kilometers (7.4 miles) east of the community.2 The site restriction will prevent a short
spacing to Station KMXV, Channel 227C, Kansas City, Missouri.
3. Accordingly, pursuant to the authority contained in Sections 4(i), 5(c)(l), 303(g) and
(r) and 307(b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections 0.61, 0.204(b)
and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS ORDERED, That effective March 24, 1997, the
FM Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b) of the Commission's Rules, IS AMENDED for the
community listed below, as follows:
' The Report and Order in MM Docket No. 95-73 granted a request filed by Big Country of Missouri to
substitute Channel 230C3 for Channel 230A at Boonville and reallot the channel to Fayette, Missouri. See 10 FCC
Red 9936 (1995).
2 The coordinates for Channel 226A at Boonville are 38-58-00 and 92-35-54.
