Commission Confirms Comment Dates for Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act of 1999
Retransmission Consent Notice of Proposed Rulemaking
On December 22, 1999, the Commission released Implementation of the Satellite Home Viewer
Improvement Act of 1999: Retransmission Consent Issues, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, CS Docket
No. 99-363, FCC 99-406 (rel. December 22, 1999) ("Notice"). In the Notice, the Commission stated that
Comments on Section IV of the Notice (good faith and exclusivity issues) are due 14 days after
publication of the Notice in the Federal Register and that Reply Comments on Section IV of the Notice
are due 21 days after publication in the Federal Register. The Notice was published in the December 29,
1999 volume of the Federal Register. Accordingly, Comments on Section IV of the Notice are due on or
before January 12, 2000 and Reply Comments to Section IV of the Notice are due on or before
January 19, 2000. The Comment and Reply Comment dates set forth for Section III and V of the Notice(February 1, 2000 and February 20, 2000, respectively) remain unchanged.
