 STEVEN  H.  RICKRODE  PROMOTED  TO  DIRECTOR  OF  FINANCIAL  MANAGEMENT 
 AUDITS,  OFFICE  OF  INSPECTOR  GENERAL 


 Washington,  D.  C.  –  The  Inspector  General  is  pleased  to  announce  that  Steven  H.  Rickrode  has 
 been  promoted  to  Director  of  Financial  Management  Audits  within  the  Office  of  Inspector 
 General  (OIG).  In  this  capacity,  Mr.  Rickrode  is  responsible  for  managing  all  aspects  of 
 financial  management  audits  and  reviews  of  commission  bureaus  and  offices  conducted  by  the 
 OIG.  Further,  Mr.  Rickrode  is  responsible  for  implementing  financial  audit  programs  required 
 either  by  statute  or  by  request  of  executive  branch  government  officials,  including  the  Chief 
 Financial  Officers’  Act,  the  Government  Management  Reform  Act,  the  Federal  Managers’ 
 Financial  Integrity  Act,  and  the  Government  Performance  and  Results  Act.  Since  April  1999, 
 Mr.  Rickrode  has  been  managing  the  financial  audit  program  within  the  OIG,  where  he  has 
 primarily  focused  on  managing  the  audit  of  the  Commission’s  FY  1999  financial  statements. 


 Mr.  Rickrode  came  to  the  Commission  from  the  Department  of  the  Treasury  Office  of 
 Inspector  General  where  he  performed  or  managed  financial  statement  and  financial 
 management  audits  of  the  Department’s  bureaus  and  offices  including  the  U.  S.  Customs  Service, 
 U.  S.  Secret  Service,  and  Bureau  of  Alcohol,  Tobacco,  and  Firearms.  Mr.  Rickrode  began  his 
 government  career  in  the  Office  of  Inspector  General  at  the  General  Services  Administration 
 where  he  performed  financial  management  and  performance  audits. 


 Mr.  Rickrode  is  a  Certified  Public  Accountant  and  a  member  of  the  American  Institute  of 
 Certified  Public  Accountants  and  the  Association  of  Government  Accountants.  Mr.  Rickrode 
 received  his  Bachelor  of  Science  degree  in  Professional  Accountancy  from  Pennsylvania  State 
 University.
