Powell, Federal Communications Commission. Ms. Newman and Ms. Figeroux will assist the Commissioner Powell and his legal staff on common carrier, mass media and wireless telecommunications issues. Ms. Newman is a second- year law student in the Communications Law Institute at Catholic University Law School (Washington, D. C.), where she is a staff member of the "CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law and Policy" and moot court associate. Most recently, she was a legal intern in the Federal Law and Public Policy department of WorldCom, Inc. In 1994 and 1995, respectively, she was a legal intern in the Offices of General Counsel at Cox Communications and Intelsat. Ms. Newman received her undergraduate degree in Communications from Furman University in June 1995. She also received her Master's of Art, Administrative Sciences (emphasis in Human Resource Management) from George Washington University in May 1998. Ms. Figeroux is a second- year law student at the Georgetown University Law Center (Washington, D. C.), where she is a staff member of the "Tax Lawyer Journal" and participates in the Georgetown Child Advocacy Group and Street Law Teaching Clinic. This past summer, Ms. Figeroux was a legal intern to the Honorable Justice Cozier, Supreme Court of New York County, Civil Branch, Commercial Division, where she was substantively involved in issues related to commercial law, communications law and environmental law. She was also a research assistant to GULC Professor Wendy Williams this summer. Ms. Figeroux received her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Women's Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in May 1999. Sieverding and Sullivan are both second- year law students in the Communications Law Institute at Catholic University Law School, where they are members of the Catholic University Law Review and moot court associates. Prior to his law studies, Mr. Sieverding worked as an Account Executive for McLeodUSA in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree, with honors distinction, in Political Science from Gettysburg University in May 1998. For his part, Mr. Sullivan served as legislative director to Representatives James Rogan and Joseph Pitts and as a legal assistant to Representative Bill Baker. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and French Studies from Syracuse University in December 1992.
