C. 20554 October 27, 2000 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO FEE REQUIREMENTS FOR PART 90 AND PART 95 APPLICANTS The Commission released a Report & Order, FCC 00- 235 on July 12, 2000 adopting a 10 year license term for Part 90. The Wireless Telecommunications Bureau will implement this change effective with Commission receipts of November 13, 2000. Part 90 applications for new or renewed authorizations received on or after November 13, 2000 and which result in a subsequent granted authorization will receive a 10 year license term. Most Part 90 licenses were previously authorized for a 5 year term. Part 90 applications for New, Renewal, or Renew/ Mod received on or after November 13, 2000, and requiring payment of regulatory fees at the time of application filing, must be accompanied by regulatory payment for 10 years in lieu of 5 years. The changes affect Payment/ Fee Type Codes PALR and PALS as follows: ~Frequencies below 470 MHz (exception 220 MHz) - $120.00 per call sign Payment/ Fee Type Code: PALR ~Frequencies 470 MHz and above and 220 MHz (Local) - $180.00 per call sign Payment/ Fee Type Code: PALS Applications received with insufficient payment will not be accepted for filing. At the same time, a change to the Payment/ Fee Type Codes for Part 95 General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) will be implemented. There is no change to the license term (5 years) or fee amounts for Part 95. The new Payment/ Fee Type Codes for GMRS are as follows: ~The Payment/ Fee Type Code PALR is replaced by PAZR and the fee is $85.00. ~The Payment/ Fee Type Code PALM is replaced by PAZM and the fee is $50.00.
