Porter, Chief of the Commission’s Consumer Information Bureau, has announced the following personnel actions: THOMAS D. WYATT NAMED ASSOCIATE BUREAU CHIEF FOR OPERATIONS Thomas D. Wyatt has been named Associate Bureau Chief - Operations in the Consumer Information Bureau (CIB). Prior to joining the CIB management team, Wyatt was senior counsel for disabilities enforcement in the Telecommunications Consumer Division, Enforcement Bureau. From 1996 to 1999, Wyatt served as Associate Chief, Enforcement Division, Common Carrier Bureau. Between March 1990 and December 1996 he served as Chief, Formal Complaints and Investigations Branch, Common Carrier Bureau where he planned, directed, and coordinated the Branch's activities relating to formal complaint actions, merger and acquisition proceedings, rulemakings, forfeitures, and other enforcement matters. From 1984 to 1996, Wyatt served as an Attorney Advisor, first in the Enforcement Division of the Mass Media Bureau and, later, in the Formal Complaints and Investigations Branch of the Common Carrier Bureau. He received his J. D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and earned a B. A. from the University of Alabama. MARGARET EGLER NAMED ASSOCIATE BUREAU CHIEF FOR POLICY Margaret Egler has been named Associate Bureau Chief - Policy in the Consumer Information Bureau. Prior to joining CIB, Egler was Assistant Chief in the Policy and Program Planning Division, Common Carrier Bureau. Prior to that, Egler was Assistant Chief and then Acting Chief of the Financial Analysis and Compliance Division, Cable Services Bureau. She also has served as Assistant Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs for Post-Newsweek Cable, Inc. (now CableOne) in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to that, Egler was a staff attorney in the Audio Services Division of the Mass Media Bureau. 1 She received her LL. M. from the University of Pennsylvania, a J. D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B. A. from Duke University. JACK L. FORSYTHE NAMED CHIEF, CONSUMER INFORMATION NETWORK DIVISION Jack L. Forsythe has been named Chief of the Consumer Information Bureau's Consumer Information Network Division. Prior to joining the CIB staff, Forsythe served as Director of Public Safety Communications (PSC) with the Prince George's County, MD, government. As Director, he had direct responsibility for managing the day- to- day operations of the Emergency 911 Communications Center for the County. In addition,. Forsythe's notable accomplishments include developing, purchasing, and implementing a Computer Aided Dispatch System; successfully integrating and consolidating three separate communications functions into one stand- alone Public Safety Agency; and successfully developing a training program to further develop current employees for greater promotional potential and employee development. As Commander, Technical Services, Forsythe successfully reorganized and reallocated resources which culminated in a reduction of the number of data entry backlog days from 54 to less than 5. He is an MBA graduate of Johns Hopkins University, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland. STEPHEN GOREY NAMED CHIEF, SYSTEMS SUPPORT OFFICE Stephen R. Gorey has been named Chief of the Consumer Information Bureau's System Support Office. Gorey comes to the CIB from the Department of the Interior where, during the last 10 years, he served as Chief of the Information Resources Management Division, in the Minerals Management Service. Gorey also served as Chief of the Administrative Systems Branch. He managed the operations and maintenance of the organization's computer facility and developed the information resources management strategic and tactical plans, policies, and guidelines. He managed an information technology budget in excess of $50 million. Gorey also served as Deputy Chief Information Officer and advisor to the Information Resource Management Review Council (the senior organization charged with overseeing strategic information technology direction).
