Commissioner Furchtgott- Roth said: “Rebecca has one of the finest legal minds at the FCC. She has been a great asset to the FCC and my office. She raised the level of discourse, and Commission decisions have been improved because of her involvement in the process. She will be sorely missed. I wish her all the best at OMB; the Administration will greatly benefit from her wise counsel.” In light of Beynon’s departure, Samuel Feder has joined Commissioner Furchtgott- Roth’s staff as a legal advisor for common carrier issues. “I am fortunate that an attorney of Sam’s stature has agreed to join my team in the final months of my tenure,” Furchtgott- Roth commented. Since July, Sam has been an attorney at the communications law firm of Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis. Prior to that, he worked at Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd & Evans (1998- 2000) and the Federal Programs Branch of the Justice Department (1996- 1998). Previously, Sam clerked for Judge Edward Becker on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan law school, where he was a Notes Editor on the Michigan Law Review and was awarded the Daniel H. Grady Prize for highest scholastic average in his class. Sam holds an A. B. in Philosophy with a minor in computer science from the College of William and Mary. Sam will assume his responsibilities immediately. 1
