 STATEMENT  OF  FCC  CHAIRMAN  POWELL  ON  NCTA  BOARD  COMMITMENT  TO  VOLUNTARY  OUTREACH  EFFORTS 


 I  would  like  to  commend  the  Board  of  Directors  of  the  National  Cable  Television 
 Associat  ion  for  its  resolut  ion  this  week  committ  ing  the  Associat  ion  and  its  members  to  a 
 program  of  voluntary  outreach  to  minorities  and  women  to  fill  job  vacancies. 


 As  the  Board  indicated  in  its  Resolution,  diversity  in  the  workforce  is  good  policy  and 
 good  business,  and  much  can  be  accomplished  through  this  kind  of  voluntary  program.
