C. – Commissioner Gloria Tristani today announced the appointment of Tricia Kinch as her Confidential Assistant. Ms. Kinch has been detailed in the position since February when Yvonne Hughes left to become Special Assistant to FCC Chief of Staff, Marsha MacBride. Ms. Kinch came to the Commission in August of 1998 as Special Assistant to the Director of the Office of Legislative and Inter- Governmental Affairs. For the past two years she had served as Staff Assistant in the Office of Chairman William E. Kennard. Ms. Kinch first came to Washington, DC in 1979 as a Sears Congressional Intern for Editorial Journalists in the Office of Congressman Bob Garcia, D- NY. She also served as Staff Assistant on the House Subcommittee on Census and Population, chaired by Congressman Garcia. While on the Hill, Ms. Kinch was a founding member of Congressional Black Associates and chaired the Political Education Committee. A 1987 graduate of the Anthropology Film Center of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Ms. Kinch has also studied Communications at the University of Washington, Seattle; Film and Video Production at Howard University and Marketing at Trinity College in Washington, D. C. Ms. Kinch received her Masters of Science in Community Economic Development from the New Hampshire College Graduate School of Business in March 2001. Ms. Kinch is divorced and has a daughter Dionne L. Kinch, a second year law student at Creighton University Law School in Omaha, Nebraska. - FCC - 1
