FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NEWS MEDIA CONTACT: May 25, 2001 Maureen Peratino at 202- 418- 0506 FCC INTERNATIONAL BUREAU’S ELECTRONIC FILING SYSTEM RECEIVES E- GOV 2001 PIONEER AWARD Washington, DC -- The Federal Communications Commission is pleased to announce that the International Bureau’s electronic filing system, IBFS, has been awarded an E- Gov 2001 Pioneer Award by an independent selection committee of public sector IT experts. IBFS is one of 20 government programs from a field of more than 100 nominations to receive this award. IBFS, which was designed and built in collaboration with DynCorp, I & ET, Inc., is an Internet- based system that allows filers to submit, and researchers and the general public to search for and view, a variety of international and satellite applications, attachments, exhibits, public notices, and other relevant data. The IBFS system will be on display at the E- Gov 2001 International Conference and Exposition, being held at the Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC, on July 10 and 11, 2001. A briefing describing the best practices employed to create and maintain IBFS will be held on July 11, 2001 from 11: 00 to 11: 30 a. m. The Commission extends an invitation to our clients and the general public to visit the IBFS booth on the Convention floor and attend our best practices briefing; both free events.
