 HOW  TO  LOCATE 
 BROADCAST  NETWORK  AFFILIATION  AGREEMENTS 
 IN  THE  REFERENCE  INFORMATION  CENTER 


 The  Reference  Information  Center  (RIC)  has  a  limited  number  of  Broadcast 
 Network  Affiliation  Agreements  located  off-  line.  Affiliation  agreements  are 
 contracts,  arrangements  or  understandings  between  a  television  station  and  a 
 network,  defined  as  an  entity  which  offers  an  interconnected  program  service  on  a 
 regular  basis  for  15  or  more  hours  a  week  to  at  least  25  affiliated  television 
 licensees  in  10  or  more  states. 


 Some  Affiliation  Agreements  can  be  voluminous,  making  it  difficult  to  file 
 them  in  the  license  files.  When  looking  for  Affiliation  Agreements,  customers 
 should  first  check  the  Consolidated  Database  System  (CDBS)  to  obtain  the  Facility 
 ID  Number  (FAC  ID)  of  the  station  they  are  researching.  Customers  then  should  fill 
 out  a  Request  form  at  the  main  counter  listing  the  FAC  ID  to  receive  the  license  file 
 for  the  station.  If  the  license  file  does  not  contain  an  Affiliation  Agreement,  the 
 RIC  may  have  an  agreement  stored  off-  line.  They  can  check  the  Off-  Line 
 Affiliation  Agreement  Listing  (attached)  kept  at  the  main  counter  in  the  RIC  to  see 
 the  agreements  that  are  stored  separately  from  the  license  file.
