FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEWS MEDIA CONTACT: November 14, 2001 John Winston at (202) 418- 7450 LINDA BLAIR NAMED DEPUTY CHIEF, ENFORCEMENT BUREAU Washington, DC -- Linda Blair, Associate Chief of the Commission’s Enforcement Bureau since May 2001, has been named Deputy Chief of that Bureau. She will continue to be responsible for overseeing the Bureau’s Regional and Field offices and its Technical and Public Safety Division, as well as the broadcast and other Title III responsibilities of the Investigations and Hearings Division. Ms. Blair will also serve as a Deputy on the Commission's newly constituted Homeland Security Policy Council. Ms. Blair joined the Commission in June 1988, serving first in the Mass Media Bureau’s Policy and Rules Division and then in the former Private Radio Bureau and the Office of General Counsel. She returned to the Mass Media Bureau in 1993 as Assistant Chief of the Audio Services Division. She became Chief of that Division in October 1995 and remained in that position until May 2001. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Blair was an associate at Ginsburg, Feldman, and Bress. She received a B. A. from the College of William and Mary and a J. D. from American University’s Washington College of Law. - FCC- 1
