ITTI 2002 will be held September 7- 10, 2002, at Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas. The ITTI 2002 program will provide American Indian tribal leaders, Alaskan Native Village leaders and other interested parties with information about the deployment of telecommunications services in Indian Country. The information provided will enable tribal governments to set their own telecommunications development agendas and priorities for increasing services in Indian Country. The program will bring together experts from the FCC and other government agencies, Indian Country, and the telecommunications industry to provide information and insight about how different service technologies, regulatory rules and government programs can be used to benefit tribal communities throughout Indian Country. The inaugural ITTI conference, ITTI 2000, was the largest gathering of Native American tribal representatives ever assembled to address telecommunications issues. The nearly 600 seminar participants included representatives from 135 American Indian tribes and Alaskan Native Villages. In addition, 27 business and government entities hosted 32 booths in the Exhibit Hall and more than 35 organizations helped to sponsor the event.
