I support today’s decisions granting four of the five oldest pending radio merger applications and setting one for hearing. I recognize that these cases have raised particularly difficult issues, but that is not a reason for failing to resolve them in a timely manner. I am pleased that, by today’s decisions, we are finally able to provide answers to the applicants – some of whom have been waiting for years. Regardless of the outcome, the Commission owes it to consumers and the industry to provide prompt and clear answers to regulatory questions. I look forward to working with my colleagues to resolve the other pending radio applications and the outstanding Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. 1
