GALAXY V SAT- MOD- 20020425- 00070 PanAmSat Licensee Corp. Modification PanAmSat Corporation has filed an application for modification of its authorization to operate its Galaxy V satellite. Specifically, PanAmSat is seeking authority to extend the license term for Galaxy V by five years. In the alternative, PanAmSat requests a grant of special temporary authority (See File No. SAT- STA- 20020425- 00069) to continue operating Galaxy V for a period of 180 days following the expiration of the satellite’s license term. Galaxy V was placed into service on April 30, 1992, and operates at 125° W. L. Galaxy V has several years of useful life remaining. S2415 SAT- MOD- 20020517- 00078 Columbia Communications Corporation Modification Columbia Communications Corporation has filed an application for modification of its authorization for a replacement satellite for its Columbia 515 satellite at 37.5° W. L. Specifically, Columbia is seeking authority to launch and operate the AMC- 12 satellite as a replacement for the Columbia 515 satellite rather than constructing the satellite authorized. The technical characteristics of this satellite are different than the satellite described in File No. SAT- LOA- 20000407- 00080 and Columbia is seeking to modify the satellite design to allow the AMC- 12 satellite to be operated as Columbia 515's replacement. Construction of the AMC- 12 satellite is advanced and it will be ready for launch by May 2003. S2212 SAT- MOD- 20020517- 00079 Columbia Communications Corporation Modification Columbia Communications Corporation has filed an application for modification of its authorization to construct, launch and operate a geostationary fixed- satellite service C- band satelilte at 47° W. L. Specifically, Columbia is seeking to change the construction, launch and operation milestones for the 47° W. L. location, to replace that schedule with the milestone schedule established for its satellite authorized at 37.5° W. L. with construction commencing in November 2002 and launch by February 2006. In addition, Columbia seeks to modify the technical specifications, including eliminating the extended C- band authorized for this satellite. The satellite will be named AMC- 22.
