In addition to his duties as Senior Advisor, Tramont will be responsible for wireless and international issues. Powell said, “Wireless and international policy issues are critical areas of focus for the Commission. Bryan’s broad expertise in these areas and past contributions will make him an invaluable advisor and leader on my team as we tackle the many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.” Since June 2001, Tramont has served as Senior Legal Advisor to FCC Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy. In that position, he advised the Commissioner on wireless, international, technology and enforcement issues. Prior to that appointment, he was Legal Advisor and then Senior Legal Advisor to Commissioner Harold Furchtgott- Roth. Before joining the FCC, Tramont was an attorney at the law firm of Wiley Rein and Fielding. He clerked for the Honorable Duane Benton on Missouri’s Supreme Court. Tramont currently is an adjunct law professor at The Catholic University of America, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
